*Footnote: C.E. means "Common Era"; many publications note years in A.D. Such an indication is contrary to the basic principles of Islam considering the meaning of A.D: it is an abbreviation for Anno Domini which is Latin for “year of the Lord.” Of course as Muslims, we do not consider the Prophet Esa (aka Jesus Christ) to be the Lord. Using A.D. to indicate year is really a form of apostasy. If you want to refer to the time before the common era, use B.C.E (before common era); only some publications, surprisingly, have adopted these indications.
