How to Tie a Hijab

I remember being very self-conscious about how to fix my hijab when I first started to wear one. The videos below inshallah will help you know various ways to tie your hijab and hopefully give you confidence.

I would really recommend that you get some pins such as the ones seen in the photo at the right. The benefit of them is they do not dig into the fabric like traditional safety pins do, and they will hold it very secure. I have never seem these kinds of pins in any American store that is not considered an "Islamic" clothing store, but they are available on the internet as well. You will probably want to have some straight pins to keep your scarf in place (sold in any fabric store).

A fabric piece to wear under your scarf is also essential. Typically it is called an "underscarf," headband or bandana. They are usually made of a jersey material, a stretchy knit fabric. It is worn under your scarf to help to keep your hair from creeping out of your scarf and to prevent your scarf from slipping off.
